Mase Admits He’ll Never Be Cool With Cam’ron

Harlem rapper Mase provided more insight into why he dropped his diss record for Cam’ron last month, during an appearance on The Angie Martinez Show this week.

Mase continued his “enough-is-enough” defense, stating, “It’s not gonna stop if you don’t say something,” referencing years of jabs from Cam’ron (including some new ones on his The Programmixtape), and the subsequent release of “The Oracle.”

“Sometimes as a man, you just gotta defend yourself. That’s all it really was. I don’t look at it more than that. I don’t know what happened for someone else. I only know what happened for me,” Mase explained.

The rapper-turned-pastor revealed there are other aspects of his feud with Cam that will likely never be made public.

“It was other things, but there’s so many factors and layers that go into it,” Mase said. “And I like to always be straight up and straight honest. It’s so many other factors, but not all of it you can discuss on the radio … You saw a person violating a person that you know wasn’t on that type of time. You could have stepped up and said something. Nobody said nothing, so how long does this go on? Till we what age?”

Despite the beef being relatively tame over social media, Mase later confessed that this current feud with Cam’ron, who he says has been his rival for nearly 20 years, has the possibility to “end bad for him.”

As for the two Harlem rhymers ever being on good terms again, Mase says it’ll never happen.

“When I was trying to do something positive. Every time they did something, it was against me,” he said. “It was against my family. It was against my belief. It was against my morals … There’s so many things that happened outside of music that they can get together and be cool. We not gonna be cool.”

Mase followed up “The Oracle” this week with a new song that features Puff Daddy and DJ Khaled. Listen to it here.
